Through out South Florida, there are many mens groups focused on prayer, a safe space for men to speak freely and learn about their faith. Many refer to them as Prayer groups or Cell Groups. Mens Prayer or Cell Groups are available in many of our local parishes. Here are a few cell groups that are available in your area.

Retrouvaille a French word that means rediscover, is the most comprehensive marriage program of the Catholic Church in the world.
It is a three parts program that focus on effective communication in marriage, to build new levels of intimacy among spouses.
1) It starts with a weekend Workshop where 3 couples and a priest will share from their lives experiences, while teaching a new communication technique to the couples.
2) Followed up with 12 post sessions topics, presented over 6 once per week meetings after the starting weekend, where using the communication technique learned during the weekend, they will navigate topics like: family of origin, personalities, values, ideals, conflict management, sex, etc.
These and all other topics are relevant to build a marriage on a solid foundation.3) The last part is monthly meetings to build community and fellowship among married couples that believe in the sanctity of the sacrament.

Father Burke Masters has had quite the journey both on and off the baseball field. Raised in Joliet, IL, he currently serves as chaplain for the Chicago Cubs, and is also the Vocation Director for the Diocese of Joliet, outside of Chicago. While Masters wasn’t raised Catholic, he attended a Catholic high school for solely baseball purposes. It was then when he encountered the Catholic Church and its teachings. By his senior year he became Catholic.
Masters said, “It was one of the greatest days of my life. But it wasn’t then that I started thinking about becoming a priest. I was so focused on baseball”.

Victor Marrero was a founding member of the Mens Cell group, Brothers in Christ, located at St. Edward Catholic Church in Pembroke Pines, FL. Victor felt a calling to reach as many men as possible, as leaders of families, communities and business with the hope of bringing them closer to Christ.
Victor was an inspiration for the first ManUP conference in 2013 and actively participated in each conference until his untimely passing in 2020. Victor was a inspiration to many and touched the lives of everyone he met.
